Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with Gizmmo Wholesale Depot, how we use it, who we share it with and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

We are the "responsible party" for your personal information under POPIA. Our store runs on the VukaHustle platform, provided by UlulaLabs (Pty) Ltd, which securely stores and processes information on our behalf as our operator. VukaHustle processes your information only to host and run our store, and does not use it for its own marketing or to train AI models.

Your card details are handled directly by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

To meet our legal and tax obligations
To send you marketing, but only if you have agreed to it or, where the law allows, about similar products after you have bought from us; you can opt out at any time

4. Our legal basis under POPIA

We process your personal information where:

It is needed to complete your order and our contract with you
You have given us consent, for example for marketing
We have a legal obligation to keep it, such as tax records
We have a legitimate interest, such as preventing fraud, that does not override your rights

5. Who we share it with

We share your information only when it is needed to serve you:

Our payment provider, to take payment securely
Couriers and delivery partners, to get your order to you
The VukaHustle platform, which hosts our store
Authorities, where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access or misuse, including secure hosting and encrypted payment handling.

If your information is compromised. If we have reasonable grounds to believe that your personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will, as required by section 22 of POPIA and as soon as reasonably possible:

notify the Information Regulator;
notify you, with enough information for you to take steps to protect yourself; and
notify VukaHustle, our platform provider, so that it can help contain and investigate the incident.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires. For example, records of sales and payments are kept for at least 5 years for tax purposes. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

Be told what information we hold about you and why
Ask for a copy of it
Ask us to correct or update it
Ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it
Object to how we use it or withdraw your consent
Opt out of direct marketing at any time

9. Children

Our store is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please shop with the permission of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect a child's personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian.

10. Cookies

Our store uses cookies to keep your cart working and to understand how the store is used. You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the store may not work as well without them.

11. Information stored outside South Africa

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information remains protected to a standard comparable with POPIA.
